I've been gone. I went away (far, far away) although no passport was required: I was in Puerto Rico. One week without the kids. One week without my husband. My friend Kathleen and I did a girls only jaunt and had a terrific time. I highly recommend it. (I do not recommend Mayo Ketchup). More photos mañana....I'm still on island time.

I would so love to do something like this. Problem is that the girlfriends I have would NEVER imagine a week away. We take a girls' weekend each year, and even that is difficult for some of them to arrange. It's pretty funny, actually: "Oh, we can't go to Istanbul bc my husband has never been there & really wants to go, so I can't go without him." "Oh, we can't go on a three-day weekend bc I need to be with my family on Monday." "Oh, I can't leave until after the kids have arrived home from school & my husband from work."
I love these women, I really do. Each is an educated & strong woman in her own right...that's why I find these statements so odd from them.
This year we are meeting in London. I think. If everyone can get it worked out. Geeeezzz, ladies.

My friends were all in awe I was going for a week. To be honest, I was too. Somehow the stars aligned though and my mom was around to help, Chris had time off, and the plane tix was $240 RT.. so off I went!
Fabulous pics and great recommendation...sending this post to Adam right now as a "subtle" hint. My girls escape to Budapest last year is still fresh in my mind and leaving me hungry to plan another girls get-away...
And guess what? We just found out we are following in your footsteps again. PCSing to Bethesda this summer. I'll send an e-mail soon to start picking your brain.
