I found this wicker headboard on Pinterest a few weeks back (oh how I love Pinterest!). It was an item from ETSY that had been for sale. I'm not sure what it sold for, but the shipping charges were listed at $80.
I decided it was perfect for Lizzie's headboard-less bed and decided to check Craigslist.
Bingo!
White wicker scrolly headboard for $35. Nice.
Turns out the guy selling it was retired Navy (Academy grad and all). He had bought his daughter an entire set of wicker in the Philippines. That was over 20 years ago (and the wicker was still in great shape).
I already had some spray paint on hand.
But in the end, the Colonial Red was too dark for my taste. I wanted something with more pop and more pink for my girl, something more like my inspiration photo. Thus my little DIY project is in a state of WIP (work in progress).

Love this too!
very cool! Can't wait to see the finished product.
What luck, the one you found looks exactly like the Etsy one! I love those little coincidences.
