We've joined the legions of children around the country who cleat up and hit the field for the fall soccer season. This is a 'fun' league. We cheer for everyone. for every goal. for every pass. for every child that kicks the ball (no matter if it's to the other team). We cheer. And on our first Saturday morning (hello 8:30 am!) we shivered, in the rain. Goodbye Saturdays... we had a good 6 year run but I knew this day would come: the day we joined the soccer team.
P.S. Mahlon did in fact enjoy his first game (even though they lost.. we don't keep score). He can't help the grumpy looks. He is, after all, part Landes part Brandt. It was also early. Did I mention the 8:30am? We left the house by 7:30 so he is part sleeping.

Ohh, I feel the same way. Despite the early start, it does give you the rest of the day! Last weekend our game was at noon and that can cut into college football tv time!. This weekend it was at 9:00 and it was a struggle to get them down to the game on time. Ummm, you know the shin guards go INSIDE the socks?
Ha ha, I was just about to say the exact some thing as Kari! "Ummm, you know the shin guards go INSIDE the socks?" Perhaps we are hanging out together too much...
Love the pictures. Mahlon has an awesome game face! Oh the intimidation. :) Hope you enjoy it.
I guess that an early start could mean that you'll be able to salvage a part of the day. We haven't hit that mark yet, with activities held during the week so far for M. Just wait until #2 gets started. . . oh, the horror!

PS. Beautiful shots.
