I did it! I finally did it. I finished the quilt! Remember the quilt? The one I started 3.5 years ago and 'finished' last summer-- only I never really did finish it. Well I've finally done it, I've completed my first quilt (and it's already being put to good use).

Although, there was an interloper. For some reason I decided I could whip up a quilt for Lizzie's teacher's baby shower. This was back in May and I only had two weeks. And some how, I did it. That's when I realized I just had to get mine done. Everyone keeps asking me who it's for and I say the same thing every time, ME. This one is for me (which explains why it took so very long to finish!). As much as I love the top, I love the back even more. But, I didn't take a picture of it... one of these days I'll get to it. As for Lizzie's teacher, I traced each of her students hands and then appliqued on to a square. I purchased fat quarters and didn't measure a thing. I literally just split the quarters and used them as my squares. I think she liked it...

Lucky, lucky teacher. It's so incredibly sweet to see the love the kids have for her in the last photo.
About that quilt, ahem, it coordinates perfectly with my window treatments. I am in the market for something in my living room, a kind of couch throw. .... just so you know ;)
Dana--
The kids adore Ms. Robyn!! Even Mahlon begs to stay with her (she ran Lizzie's day camp too.). Fortunately she babysits, unfortunately she is about to have a baby and will be out for a good chunk of the Fall.
I remember years ago when you posted your curtains leaving a comment that I had the same fabric for a quilt. That is how loooong I've been doing this silly thing!
