Mahlon received a letter from his new first grade teacher a few days ago, a sure sign that the summer holiday is quickly coming to an end. We've been making the most of it though. Last week was particularly busy-- even with Mahlon being sick and having an ear infection. On Saturday we were able to join friends in North Beach, Maryland (about an hour outside of DC). North Beach is a sweet little bayside town, a quintessential summer spot boasting a small boardwalk, a few carnival rides and a pricey- but worth it- pay for beach . It's not very big so it doesn't get very crowded. And we rather like it that way.
