Vintage Patch Travel Pouch...
(say that 3 times fast!)

A friend of ours is getting married. Along with my Mom and SIL we are hosting a shower for her this weekend. I was good and purchased a gift from the registry. But I couldn't resist doing something a little homemade. Thus, this semi-handmade vintage patch travel pouch was born.

Inside the bag are store bought packing lists that I think are sort of cute although most likely unnecessary for this jet setting bride. And one blue and one pink- his and hers- toothbrush.

Using a denim pouch I had on hand (from my Go-Yen days) I appliqued custom vintage labels to the outside. To commemorate the wedding location, I made one patch using an old New York post card. Before printing the image onto transfer paper I added the bride and grooms' initials plus their wedding date.

The bride and groom met in Santiago, Chile at a language school. Unfortunately the groom had to return to Portland and the Bride NYC. In an attempt to live in just one spot, they took their bi-coastal relationship back down south, this time to Buenos Aires. Thus I felt compelled to add a little something to remember their year in BA.

For good measure I put a second NYC patch on the back, again with their initials and wedding date.

Now I just hope she (or her Mom) won't check the blog until after the shower...
